THURSDAY: Mayview State Hospital Land Reuse Task Force to Hold Meeting

Moon – The task force created to examine the reuse of Mayview State Hospital in South Fayette Township will meet Thursday on hospital grounds.

Chaired by state Sen. John Pippy (R-37) and state Rep. Nick Kotik (D-45), the panel will hold a public meeting Thursday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the hospital's Regional Conference Room of the Dietary Building.

With the Department of Public Welfare's (DPW) closure of the hospital, the task force is in the final stages of developing recommendations for how to best reuse the buildings and grounds.

The Task Force began holding meetings in February 2008.
